The Senior Workers' Compensation Claims Specialist works within a Claims Team, using the latest technology to review, analyze and process claims that are routinely characterized as moderately complex to complex within assigned authority limits. This includes making decisions about liability/compensability, evaluating losses, negotiating settlements and managing an inventory of commercial property/casualty claims involving bodily injury or property loss. The Senior Claims Specialist may also assist the Claims Team Manager with assigning new claims to team members, providing technical direction, and monitoring caseloads.   Training is a critical component to your success and that success starts with reliable attendance.  Attendance and active engagement during training is mandatory.  Training will require 2 weeks in our office in Plano.,TX. To be considered for this position, you are required to reside within 50 miles of Liberty Mutual’s Rocklin, CA, Las Vegas, NV, or Lake Oswego, OR office. This position has a hybrid work schedule.   Responsibilities: - Plans and conducts investigations of claims (including such activities as interviewing insureds, witnesses and claimants, collecting and evaluating appropriate documentation and securing evidence and protecting the chain-of-custody) to analyze and confirm coverage and to determine liability, compensability and damages; determines need for, and engages independent adjusters, cause and origin experts and independent medical examiners. Delivers and assists other team members in risk identification and mitigation strategies, evaluation of control efficiency/deficiencies, and remediation strategies. Advises on impacts and recommends solutions specific to people, processes, and technology changes in the environment. Effectively communicates technical and non-technical content to diverse audiences. The Ideal Candidate Will have:   Ability to assess technology and processes to determine risks, impacts, and relationships with corresponding standards and control processes in order to provide guidance for remediation of findings. Knowledge and experience working with cybersecurity controls, IT auditing, risk and regulatory assessment best practices, cybersecurity and compliance frameworks such as CIS Controls, NIST CSF, ISO 27001, FAIR, COBIT, GDPR/CCPA. Working knowledge and practice of IT security, risk and compliance concepts, processes and ability to execute existing patterns. Highly collaborative with peers and customers on a technical and professional level and driven to improve service and engagement models. Ability to understand and align business drivers in relation to compliance considerations. Ability to scope and integrate control frameworks and regulatory requirements into enterprise controls and advise on control design to meet cybersecurity risk and compliance needs. Knowledge of Agile practices and experience working with scrum teams. Strong negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills; strong oral and written communication skills; strategic and holistic thinking; able to present to senior contributors and management.
