We are seeking Senior Attorneys to provide specialized legal support to our US Retail Markets (USRM) Claims & Service operations. In this role, you will collaborate across teams to deliver strategic guidance on regulatory, governance, and transactional matters within one of four focus areas: Auto Physical Damage, Property, Casualty, or Medical/SIU/Programs (MSP). You will serve as the primary legal advisor for your line of business, working closely with USRM and Global Legal & Compliance (GL&C) colleagues to ensure consistent, high-quality legal support.
What You’ll Do:
Maintain active engagement with USRM Claims leadership, communicate proactively, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver strategic legal guidance and oversight on critical initiatives, regulatory developments, and operational matters within USRM’s Claims and Service organization. Each role requires advanced legal expertise and claims operations experience as you will specialize and be aligned to one of the following lines of business
You will represent and advise the company on significant legal and business transactions that demand deep insurance-regulatory expertise, original legal reasoning, and vigorous advocacy in the face of complex or novel challenges. You will conduct and oversee comprehensive research and analysis in your area of specialization—guiding, focusing, and refining the work of other team members to ensure precision and relevance. At the same time, you drive operational excellence within GL&C by enhancing knowledge-sharing and retention practices, strengthening documentation processes, and leveraging technology tools to streamline workflows.

Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
