Description

Candidates who live within 50 miles of Boston, MA; Westborough, MA; Plano, TX; Hoffman Estates, IL; Indianapolis, IN; Chandler, AZ; Las Vegas, NV; Lake Oswego, OR; Weatogue, CT; or Suwanee, GA will follow a hybrid schedule, coming into the office two days per month.

 

Travel: This role will be expected to deliver in-person training in Plano, TX 4-6 times a year to deliver 3 days of in-person training. Actual amount of travel will be determined by candidate's location.

 

Note: Compensation for this role will depend on the candidate’s geographic location, overall experience, and skill level.

 

Job Summary:

 

The Claims Learning Center in Global Risk Solutions (GRS) North America Claims is seeking a Senior Training Specialist to support and deliver complex claims training programs in in-person and/or virtual classroom environments. This role will primarily support delivery of New Hire Training and intermediate programs for GRS North America Claims, US Casualty audiences. This role will leverage candidates’ extensive experience handling complex auto and general liability claims for commercial customers.

 

Identify and work with subject matter experts and instructional designers on moderately complex projects. When needed prepares subject matter experts to deliver assigned content. Conducts training program assessments to ensure meeting of learning objectives. Works with senior managers on continuous improvement of programs.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Delivers complex training programs to assigned client groups that may cross organizational levels and roles.
  • Training delivery includes both live and virtual classroom environments.
  • Conducts needs assessment to identify learning objectives.
  • May develop training content to meet the needs of assigned client groups and/or to improve upon the quality of existing content.
  • Manages moderately complex training & development projects, working with subject matter experts, management, and instructional designers.
  • Project work includes needs assessments, curriculum development, course content development, program assessments, participant testing/evaluations.
  • Identifies appropriate training media and methodologies based on audience learning styles, nature of training being delivered, audience location, point within the learning process, etc., within the context of business needs and constraints.
  • Consults with managers to identify training needs and to ensure course content, training methodologies, and training materials meet those needs.
  • Conducts formal training program assessments to identify gaps between learning objectives and learning outcomes.
  • Provides recommendations for and makes changes to curriculum.
  • Develops and administers tools to measure effectiveness of training programs.
  • Makes recommendations based on these measurements to improve quality of training programs.
  • Provides feedback and coaching to client audience in one-on-one and group settings.
  • Creates individual development plans based on formal assessments and manager feedback.
  • Ensures program administration needs are met, to include communications, scheduling, roster management, materials production, facilities coordination, participant tracking, etc.
  • Actively engages with participant questions throughout the learning program.
  • Provides post-program learning support to participants to ensure application of critical learning back on the job. Ensures that described resources, tools, and program content are available after the program to support job performance.
  • Identifies needs and provides recommendations for utilizing outside resources.
  • Handles vendor management, to include coordination of resources and ensuring quality of product and service levels delivered.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required, Master's degree preferred, in addition to 7-10 years of experience in mix of technical and training and development roles.
  • REQUIRED:
    • 5+ years’ experience as a claims adjuster responsible for handling Auto and General Liability claims for large commercial customers.
    • 2+ years’ experience delivering training auto general liability training to claims handlers
  • Proven ability to engage audiences in learning topics while effectively responding to audience needs.
  • Demonstrates strong project management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including advanced presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent ability to identify different learning styles and to select optimal delivery methods to achieve desired outcomes.
