Description

  • Partner with senior team members to execute all aspects of deal execution, including investment framing, credit underwriting, due diligence, structuring and negotiation, management of the investment committee process, legal documentation, and asset management:
    • Lead all aspects of due diligence and analysis of investments.
    • Develop investment committee memoranda and present to investment committees.
    • Perform detailed financial modeling to support investment decision-making.
    • Support deal execution, including the development of legal documentation.
    • Monitor existing investments.
    • Engage with external partners and management teams.
  • Understand the merits of transactions and the underlying businesses, understand trends within a particular sector, and conduct market research
  • Manage multiple projects at a time and work with external partners and work internally with other LMI credit groups as well as our legal, asset allocation, risk, and accounting and operations teams to develop customized solutions for corporate counterparts.
  • Drive robust relative value discussions across the organization and seek to generate optimal risk-adjusted returns for the overall portfolio
  • Work independently in a flat/lean team structure and promote a culture of collaboration, being willing to work cross-functionally to add value across the organization.
  • Pursue the development of technology, data, and analytics needed to support the role.
  • Position requires domestic (US) travel up to 10%.
  • Telecommuting permitted up to 40%.

Qualifications

Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Economics or Accounting, Commerce or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in an Associate-related occupation.
Position requires demonstrable experience with the following:

  • Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills in Microsoft Excel.

  • Demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Producing investment memoranda and presenting investment recommendations.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.

  • Capital markets and fixed income instruments.

  • Managing multiple high-priority projects in a fast-paced investment environment.

  • Interacting with senior executives, external managers, and legal counsel.

  • Working independently and as part of a collaborative, flat team structure.

  • Demonstrating strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.

  • General knowledge of credit investing and structured equity products.

  • Position requires domestic (US) travel up to 10%.

  • Telecommuting permitted up to 40%.
