Description

Summary

Under minimal direction, drives quantitative measurement and evaluation of strategic technology and non-technology investments and initiatives across the Surety portfolio. Partners with project sponsors, stakeholders, and operations teams to establish standardized cost-benefit frameworks, track post-implementation value delivery, and report measurable outcomes to executive leadership. Builds organizational capability in metrics development and analysis to support a culture of accountability aligned to the 2030 strategic plan. Serves as a dual report to the Surety Chief Data Officer and the Surety Director of Operational Excellence. Strong competence in influencing cross-functional partners and ensuring investment decisions are grounded in data-driven insights.


Responsibilities

•Designs and implements a standardized approach to cost-benefit analysis for technology investments and strategic initiatives across the portfolio.

• Builds and maintains a portfolio-level dashboard that rolls up measurable benefits across all active projects and programs.

•Partners with project sponsors and stakeholders to develop benefit statements, define success metrics, and establish baseline data for each initiative.

•Tracks and monitors post-implementation value delivery, identifying gaps between expected and actual returns.

•Conducts complex quantitative analyses under minimal direction to evaluate investment performance and inform executive decision-making.

•Identifies and resolves data availability gaps to ensure the right inputs exist for accurate cost-benefit measurement.

•Provides actionable recommendations to executive stakeholders on investment prioritization, portfolio performance, and execution improvement opportunities.

•Develops and delivers training to sponsors, stakeholders, and operations teams on metrics development, cost-benefit methodology, and what good measurement looks like.

•Enforces standards and accountability for benefit tracking across the project portfolio in partnership with key stakeholders.

•Presents analysis, dashboards, and strategic recommendations to senior and executive leadership with confidence, clarity, and executive presence.

•Influences leaders across the organization to gain buy-in for standardized metrics practices, investment accountability, and new ways of working.

•Champions and leads culture change toward measurable accountability for discretionary investment outcomes aligned to the 2030 strategic plan, building consensus and momentum across diverse stakeholder groups.

•Serves as subject matter expert on investment metrics and value measurement, consulting on complex business cases and design considerations.

•Actively shares knowledge and builds analytical capability across teams to reduce reliance on any single resource for metrics expertise.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Surety industry strongly preferred
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis software (example, PowerBI)
  • Must have good planning, organizational, analytical, decision making and communication skills
  • Process Improvement skills and experience
  • Experience managing projects preferred
  • Strong presentation Skills
  • Stakeholder Management skills
  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, or other quantitative field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 6 years, typically 8 years or more of relevant work experience
  • Master's degree beneficial
