This is a hybrid opportunity (2 days per week onsite) in Boston MA or Portsmouth NH

 

As a member of the Global Brand & Communications team, the Senior Social Media Marketing Manager will be responsible for shaping Liberty Mutual’s enterprise social media strategy while serving as the owner of the Executive LinkedIn Program. This role will specifically plan, develop, and implement complex marketing campaigns on LinkedIn to elevate Liberty Mutual’s brand, thought leadership, and reputation on social platforms.

 

Operating within an integrated team model, this role will influence how Liberty Mutual shows up across social media, engaging key audiences, supporting talent attraction, and advancing enterprise goals.


Key Responsibilities

Social Media Strategy

  • Support and advance the enterprise social media strategy, contributing strategic thinking, insights, and recommendations that strengthen overall direction and execution.
  • Identify growth opportunities across platforms (LinkedIn, YouTube, Meta, Glassdoor/Indeed), audiences, and content approaches to strengthen brand presence and business impact.
  • Establish frameworks, best practices, and standards that drive consistency, quality, and innovation across the team’s social media work.

Executive LinkedIn Program Leadership

  • Lead Liberty Mutual’s Executive LinkedIn Program, developing and executing a comprehensive strategy that positions executives as credible industry thought leaders and brand advocates.
  • Manage content strategy, planning, and development for LinkedIn channels of key Liberty Mutual leaders, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and individual executive communication strategies.

Content Strategy & Creation

  • Create compelling, high-performing LinkedIn content tailored to each executive’s voice, personal brand, and objectives.
  • Ensure content reflects Liberty Mutual’s brand values, employer brand, and inclusive voice while driving engagement and reach.
  • Oversee content reviews and approvals with internal stakeholders and manage publishing across executive channels.

Integrated Partnership & Stakeholder Management

  • Work within an integrated model, collaborating closely with Enterprise Communications, Public Relations, Enterprise Creative, Talent & Digital Marketing, Sponsorships & Integrated Programs, Inclusive Experience, Legal, and other key partners.
  • Manage relationships with external creative agencies and Liberty Mutual’s LinkedIn account team to maximize platform opportunities and program impact.
  • Navigate complex stakeholder environments with confidence, influence, and clear communication.

Social Media Best Practices & Innovation

  • Stay ahead of social media trends, platform updates, and evolving best practices, particularly on LinkedIn.
  • Conduct ongoing competitive and industry analysis to identify opportunities for innovation, optimization, and differentiation.
  • Advise internal partners on social media best practices and emerging opportunities.

Performance Measurement & Optimization

  • Define and manage KPIs aligned to enterprise objectives, using data to inform strategy and optimize performance in both the short and long term.
  • Lead performance reporting for the Executive LinkedIn Program, translating analytics into clear insights, recommendations, and executive-ready presentations.
  • Continuously refine strategies based on results, audience behavior, and business priorities.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working with C-suite and senior executives, with a strong track record of building trust, influence, and effective partnerships.
  • Deep expertise in social media strategy, with strong knowledge of platform algorithms, features, and best practices—particularly LinkedIn and LinkedIn’s Top Voice Program.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, execute, and optimize enterprise-level social media strategies that drive engagement and measurable business outcomes.
  • Exceptional copywriting and content creation skills, with the ability to adapt tone and messaging for different leaders and audiences.
  • Experience leveraging Generative AI tools to enhance social media strategy, content ideation, editorial planning, optimization, and performance insights—while applying sound judgment, brand standards, and enterprise governance.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret social media data and translate insights into action.
  • Confident presenter with the ability to lead meetings and tell clear, compelling stories through data and results.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in an integrated model.
  • Prior advertising agency experience preferred
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Bachelor`s degree with a concentration in Marketing, Business Administration or Communications preferred or equivalent experience required; MBA preferred
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant and progressively more responsible experience within a marketing-driven organization

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
