This role has a hybrid work schedule (2 days onsite) and we are considering candidates based in Portsmouth, NH, Boston, MA, Plano, TX, Indianapolis, IN and Columbus, OH.

Job Introduction:

 

This is an exciting time to join our teams as we organize into meaningful value streams aligned with the underwriting life cycle. This role will be in the Risk Rating & Pricing portfolio. The Risk Rating & Pricing portfolio is responsible for a set of capabilities that enable flexible and efficient rating and pricing of accounts of any size and complexity. These products leverage advanced analytics to provide the underwriter with an in-depth understanding of target price as well as key metrics allowing them to determine adequate pricing strategy that promotes profitability.

 

We are searching for a highly productive Senior Full Stack Engineer for a distributed, dynamic agile team to serve as a technical expert in analysis, design, coding, and testing innovative data reporting solutions. This is an outstanding opportunity to work in a focused team environment with cross train collaboration, input to the database architecture, and working with teams of developers. 

 

About the job:

  • Collaborative partner: Working with our GRS team of scrum masters, product owners and fellow engineers, you’ll tackle technical challenges and ensure quality as we move from legacy technologies to next-generation applications.
  • Comprehensive problem-solver: As you manage the end-to-end development of software products, you’ll analyze issues at the system level and handle any complications that arise by implementing effective solutions.
  • Skilled technical engineer: You’ll document and lead the implementation of technical features, improvements and innovations. Tech stacks include AWS serverless (Lambda's, API Gateway), Typescript, Python, Step Functions, Java, Springboot, CI/CD, Angular DB (Mongo, RDS - mysql and postgres), Flowable, Datadog and Excel.
  • Forward thinker: Simply fixing the problem isn’t enough; using your proactive mindset and initiative, you’ll continually look for ways to improve performance, quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years of Full Stack Engineer experience.
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years of experience in Typescript and Angular, Spring Boot, JavaScript (NodeJS, Angular), AWS cloud technologies, Micro-frontend and microservices architecture, and Rest API design.
  • Experience with CI/CD practices & Dev Ops Principles.
  • Proficiency in software engineering languages and tools, including Java and RESTful services, spanning horizontal and vertical packages
  • A background in business operations and strategies, with a focus on business IT
  • A history of translating client requirements into technical designs
  • Agile engineering capabilities and a design-thinking mindset
  • Collaboration, adaptability, flexibility and the ability to manage time and prioritize work with a globally distributed development team
  • Strong oral and written communication skills - and a knack for explaining your decision-making process to non-engineers
  • A thorough grasp of IT concepts, business operations, design and development tools, system architecture and technical standards, shared software concepts and layered solutions and designs
  • An understanding of how modifications affect different parts of a system and an ability to explain your decision-making process to non-engineers.

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
