Come join our growing North America Specialty Wholesale Healthcare Team as a multiline underwriter focused on the West! Candidate will underwrite healthcare professional & general liability policies for specialized products in miscellaneous medical facilities/allied with the opportunity to underwrite other products within our 17+ product suite. Working within underwriting authority, the Senior Underwriter makes analytical, data-driven decisions, including risk assessment and pricing.
 Role is hybrid or virtual based on location. Level and title may be adjusted higher based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities:
Manages portfolio of brokers/agents and clients. Leverages market presence and knowledge to develop and underwrite profitable business, acting as a representative for Ironshore, a Liberty Mutual company. Maintains a strong market presence, including established relationships with wholesale brokers. Looks to strengthen these relationships and develop new ones. Contributes ideas for product development and participates in development and execution. Contributes to team projects (e.g., process / tool improvement). Understands the work implications of relevant legislation and regulation. Collaborates effectively across teams, stakeholders, and partners (e.g., UW Support, Claims, Actuarial). Mentors peers and new hires. May recognize and communicate emerging trends of exposures within line of business expertise.
Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
