Princ Data Solutions Analyst 

Ensuring that data is a competitive differentiator for our enterprise, the USRM Data Office sets strategic data product visions, governs data for quality and compliance, develops best in class data and reporting solutions, and continuously seeks to optimize the value that data creates for our customers and company. Our team includes data analysts, data stewards, data strategists, and data product owners – performance-driven individuals who make sure that data is appropriately leveraged across every layer of our business.

 

The Operational Data & Reporting team within USRM Data Office is seeking a Principal Data Solutions Analyst focusing on delivering best in class data & reporting solutions and insights for a range of stakeholders within our Independent Agency Distribution reporting team.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provides, builds and maintains data solutions to meet the needs of our business partners and ensures these solutions can be scaled appropriately.
  • Independently works on highly complex assignments and prototyping/developing data solutions that meet the needs of the organization and business customers. Coding scalable proof-of-concepts and solutions.
  • Designs proof-of-concept solutions utilizing and advanced understanding of multiple coding languages to meet technical and business requirements with an ability to perform iterative solution testing to ensure specifications are met.
  • Acts as a technical leader and mentor for the team, providing assistance & guidance to lower-level team members
  • Design and develops data solutions that enable effective self-service data consumption and can describe their value to the customer.
  • Influences strategic thinking across the team and the broader organization
  • Identifies and utilizes best practices and iterative testing to ensure requirements are met.
  • Prioritizes efforts based on customer value and can set expectations for deliverables of high complexity.
  • Able to lead projects and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective project execution.
  • Assist in the creation of roadmaps for data solutions and turn vague ideas or problems into a data product.
  • Ensure data solutions include activities and deliverables required to achieve high data quality and displays a strong understanding of complex, multi-tier, multi-platform systems, applying principles of metadata, lineage, business definitions, compliance and data security to project work.

Qualifications

Qualifications: 

  • Strong written and oral communication skills required
  • Bachelor`s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline preferred
  • Master`s in same or related disciplines strongly preferred
  • 5-7 years experience in coding for data management, data warehousing, or other data environments, including, but not limited to, working in NoSQL implementation, ETL, Java, scripting languages (Python, Perl, Shell), and the Hadoop stack
  • 5-7 years experience as developer with top quadrant Business Intelligence tools
