US Retail Markets (USRM) Risk Analytics (RA) – Small Commercial (SC) Liability Lines Analytics team is seeking a highly motivated individual to join and accomplish a variety of challenging analytics projects that will drive product strategies for our core lines of business – Commercial Auto, Workers Compensation & Umbrella products. This group performs diagnostics, forecasting, predictive modeling, and prescriptive analytics and translates their insights into actionable recommendations that directly influence business decisions. The team closely engages with a variety of organizations, including other teams in USRM Product Management, State Management, Underwriting, Data Science, Claims and Finance. This highly visible team provides analytical thought leadership and strategic direction to be a premier small commercial carrier and to achieve Liberty’s aspiration of becoming one of the top 3 Global P&C insurers.

 

In this role, you will work closely with various stakeholders to develop strategic business targets, assess progress toward those targets, and ultimately drive profitable growth for Commercial Auto, Workers Compensation & Umbrella.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive profitable growth in Small Commercial Auto, Umbrella, and Workers’ Compensation by delivering actionable insights and influencing decisions across partner teams.
  • Develop deep line-of-business expertise; proactively identify opportunities, lead analyses, and recommend strategies. Build trust and credibility to accelerate decision-making and execution.
  • Mine and analyze large, complex datasets using advanced analytical techniques to generate insights that inform business decisions.
  • Collaborate extensively with stakeholders to shape, enhance, and execute growth and profitability strategies; clearly communicate opportunities and risks; align cross-functionally on solutions and support implementation.
  • Design and deliver diagnostic and prescriptive analytics to uncover and capture growth and profitability opportunities.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive dynamics, and internal performance to continuously improve portfolio results.
  • Translate quantitative findings into clear narratives and visuals for non-technical audiences.
  • Present research, findings, recommendations, and business impact to senior leadership.
  • Coach and mentor junior team members and non-technical partners on structuring analyses, generating insights, and communicating results.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree plus a minimum 3 years, typically 4 or more years of experience, or equivalent, is required.
  • Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or other quantitative field are preferred fields of study.
  • Advanced knowledge of data sources, tools, statistical principles and methodologies, and techniques.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (VBA, macros, scripts, formulas, data visualization, etc.), PowerPoint, and statistical software packages (SAS, Emblem).
  • Must have good planning, analytical, decision-making and communication skills. Solid understanding of business to improve business outcomes.
