Description

  • Designs and develops programs and tools to support ingestion, curation and provisioning of complex enterprise data to achieve analytics, reporting, and data science.
  • Identifies process improvements that address complex technology gaps within a single business process.
  • Builds strong knowledge of technology enablers.
  • Analyzes and prepares complex technology enabled recommendations to address gaps within a single business process.
  • Provides successful deployment and provisioning of data solutions to production or other required environments.
  • Designs and builds data provisioning workflows/pipelines, physical data schemas, extracts, data transformations, and data integrations and/or designs and builds data architecture and applications that enable reporting, analytics, data science, and data management and improve accessibility, efficiency, governance, processing, and quality of data.
  • Makes recommendations for how to improve data.
  • Applies machine learning concepts to work as applicable.
  • Domestic Travel required up to 10%.
  • Telecommuting permitted up to 60%.

Qualifications

Employer will accept a bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Information Technology or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a Senior Data Engineer-related occupation.

Position requires demonstrable experience in the following:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in data engineering languages and tools.
  • Demonstrated strong proficiency in general programming languages and frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop on multiple platforms.
  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge of the following: IT concepts, strategies, methodologies.
  • Versed in diverse technologies and new technical architecture principles and concepts.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in layered systems architectures solutions and designs and shared data engineering concepts.
  • Business function(s) and I/T industry business issues.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of business operations, strategies and objectives.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Agile data engineering concepts and processes.
  • Demonstrated extensive consultative skills, including the ability to understand and apply customer requirements, including drawing out unforeseen implications and making recommendations for design.
  • Demonstrated ability to define design reasoning, understanding potential impacts of design requirements.
  • Demonstrated extensive understanding of backlog tracking, burndown metrics, and incremental delivery.
  • Domestic Travel required up to 10%.
  • Telecommuting permitted up to 60%.
