Are you looking for an opportunity to influence strategy for a countrywide Personal Lines (PL) Home book of business through operational analytics insights?  PL Home Countrywide (CW) Analytics is seeking a talented, motivated individual to lead the Operational Monitoring team.  This team monitors granular topline and bottom line actual metrics to identify key risks and opportunities for Home profitability and growth and escalate to key stakeholders within the organization.  This role will report directly to the PL Home Countrywide Analytics leader and lead a team of 4 analysts.  

 

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team that produces analysis with exposure directly to key leadership stakeholders.

We are looking for a candidate that:

  • Triages and prioritizes workload effectively across themselves, their team, and partner groups in the organization.
  • Utilizes deep quantitative acumen to tease out key trends in data to drive business decisions.
  • Collaborates effectively across functions, able to tie together priorities across the organization with the capacity and skills of the team.
  • Has an ACAS and/or FCAS and actuarial experience within Personal Lines Homeowners line of business.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop a team of 4 analysts, cultivating a positive and collaborative team culture.
  • Coalesce findings across the suite of monitoring metrics to drive operational action.
  • Collate deep dive findings from the broader CW Analytics team and other partner groups into the Operational Monitoring narrative.
  • Generate monthly read-outs for leadership.
  • Monitor and triangulate leading indicators of New Business profitability to flag potential risks.
  • Monitor New Business competitiveness at a state/segment level to inform where we are growing and where we have opportunities to be more competitive.
  • Deliver granular insights into persistency and average premium change at renewal trends to inform retention forecasts and operational decisions.
  • Evaluate and monitor key Product initiatives to inform forecast, program design, and roll out decisions.
  • Monitor granular frequency and severity trends that drive profitability to identify potential loss savings and inform projections.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or other quantitative field; Ph.D. helpful given quantitative work overseen.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills.
  • Expert knowledge of data sources, tools, and business processes, including a sophisticated understanding of cross-functional operations and business drivers.
  • Expert knowledge of advanced statistical techniques required.

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
