Overview


The Director of Specialty Services, LMI will play a pivotal role in advancing Liberty Mutual Investments (LMI) strategic and cultural priorities through exceptional event strategy and cross-functional project execution. Reporting directly to the Head of Business Enablement, this leader will partner closely with the LMI Brand and Communications team and the Relationship Management team to bring strategic event expertise to LMI’s External Partner Engagement initiatives, while also overseeing internal events and driving high-impact special projects. The ideal candidate brings strategic vision, operational excellence, and a passion for crafting experiences that inspire, connect, and deliver measurable business outcomes.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead the design, planning, and execution of internal and external events—including leadership offsites, employee experiences, and partner engagements. in partnership with enterprise teams and key stakeholders.
  • Partner with the Relationship Management team to shape External Partner Engagement experiences that deepen relationships and advance business goals.
  • Oversee internal programs that strengthen alignment, reinforce culture, and enhance collaboration across LMI.
  • Lead cross-functional projects that drive LMI’s business enablement agenda, scalable processes, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with LMI Brand & Communications on event-related brand activations to ensure consistency with LMI’s strategic positioning.
  • Manage vendors, budgets, and platforms to ensure seamless, high-quality execution and measurable impact.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing team that fosters innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of professional experience in event management, project management, or related specialty services function within the investments/asset management space.
  • Strong project management expertise with a track record of delivering complex initiatives and strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage vendors and oversee budgets.
  • Strong reporting, tracking, and process creation skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Up to 50% travel is required for this role.

Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
