Description

  • Conduct business and legal review of public and private M&A deals in Latin America, including analysis of risk, reviewing transaction documents, disclosure process, diligence reports and discussions with the deal team as part of underwriting R&W insurance policies.
  • Assess insurability of risk and negotiate and draft policies for insured risks.
  • Contribute to the R&Ws Insurance development in the Latin America Region.
  • Cultivate and form relationships with M&A production and distribution sources, with focus on brokers, law firms, private equity firms, investment banks, and accounting firms.
  • Mentoring and development of junior members of the team.
  • Travel within the region for client visits, with periodic travel to regional North American offices and occasional international travel.
  • Travel required up to 50% (50% international and 50% US travel).
  • Telecommuting permitted up to 50%.

Qualifications

Employer will accept a Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Law or related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in a Sr Executive Underwriter, GTS-related occupation.
JD (or foreign equivalent) required.
Admitted to practice Law in at least one Latin America Jurisdiction required.

Position requires demonstrable experience in the following:

  • Underwriting highly technical risks.
  • M&A transactions and concepts.
  • Drafting and negotiating purchase agreements and related documentation.
  • Legal M&A experience in the Latin America region.
  • Demonstrated understanding of key legal trends in the Latin America region.
  • Underwriting concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Drafting and negotiating Insurance Policies and related documentation.
  • Proved experience in Insurance and Reinsurance.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Insurance and Reinsurance concepts and regulations in Latin America and the US.
  • Insurance regulatory experience in the Latin America region.
  • Building and maintaining key broker, customer and vendor relationships both domestically and in the Latin America region.
  • Travel required up to 50% (50% international and 50% US travel).
  • Telecommuting permitted up to 50%.
