This role is the chief engineer for the Equipment Breakdown Engineering organization, and is accountable for all people and activities. EB Engineering risk evaluations of commercial properties that provide underwriters with the engineering information needed to better evaluate exposures. The team is also responsible for all jurisdiction inspections of boilers and pressure vessels in compliance with all jurisdictional requirements in the US and Canada. The chief engineer is accountable for the quality, quantity and timeliness of inspections and reporting work performed by EB engineers and vendors. They are responsible for the delivery of internal and external training programs as well as the research, development and maintenance of engineering policies, procedures, and technology. The chief is also responsible for ensuring our continued accreditation as an Authorized Inspection Agency and appropriate commissions for all inspectors.

Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
