Come join the Specialty Product leadership team! Our team is focused on achieving profitable grown for USRM by building innovative products that meet evolving customer and agent needs. We are the profit and loss owners for the Specialty portfolio and strive to innovate, influence, and collaborate with every part of the business and regulators to help USRM reach its profitability and growth goals.  We're seeking a Director II, Product Research to oversee the P&L and long-term success of our Specialty Vehicle products (Motorcycle, Classic Cars, and Recreational Vehicles).

 

**This role may have in-office requirements depending on candidate location.**

 

Responsibilities:

  • Directly accountable for Specialty Vehicle profit and loss, including performance against plan.
  • Creates vision and strategy for Specialty Vehicle LOBs including but not limited to target market, channel strategy and product features needed to attract customers.
  • Establishes objectives for the LOBs in terms of growth and profitability.
  • Develops, reviews, and implements strategies through the integration of the sales, service, underwriting, pricing and claims functions.
  • Collaborates within Product and other functional departments to maximize effectiveness of programs while maintaining compliance.
  • Monitors the market place and identifies competitor and industry changes impacting effectiveness or compliance of current programs.
  • Examines all relevant data and works with the appropriate teams to implement changes in pricing position, underwriting standards, sales growth, and claims handling.
  • Works with the various distribution channels across states to develop new business volume and quality standards and objectives, and to monitor the quality of new business sales results

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, or other quantitative field
  • Minimum 9, typically 12 years or more of relevant work experience,
  • Master's degree and/or ACAS or similar designation beneficial
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis software (eg, SAS, Access)
  • Must have good planning, organizational, analytical, decision-making and communication skills
  • Experience managing projects preferred
