Description

  • Work within legacy and modern architectures, frameworks, and tools.
  • Lead the team on the implementation of the technical roadmap for the domain.
  • Partner with the Product Owner(s) to develop and continually refine a roadmap that drives technology modernization alongside business priorities.
  • Lead teammates in the development of the customer ecosystem and technical standards based on business plan and vision.
  • Propose and implement improvements to increase process efficiency and effectiveness, providing input to solution designs to ensure consistency, security, maintainability and flexibility.
  • Mentor other team members in the technologies utilized on our solutions.
  • Domestic travel required up to 5%.
  • Telecommuting permitted up to 60%.

Qualifications

Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related field and 8 years of experience in the job offered or in a Principal Data Engineer-related occupation.

Position requires demonstrable experience in the following:

  • MDM and Reltio MDM.
  • Java, Kubernetes, Mongo Atlas, Postgres, and CI/CD.
  • SQL, data analysis, P&C insurance knowledge, REST and API.
  • Kafka, API development, and REST.
  • Performance tuning APIs and software components.
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of IT concepts, strategies and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of diverse and emerging technologies and new architectural concepts and principles.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in data engineering languages and tools.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in new and emerging technologies.
  • Demonstrated in-depth understanding of layered solutions and designs.
  • Demonstrated in-depth understanding of shared data engineering concepts and product features, as well as security minded.
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of business operations, objectives and strategies.
  • Demonstrated in-depth understanding of global business and technology trends and the financial services industry.
  • Negotiation, consensus building, influencing skills and facilitation.
  • Domestic travel required up to 5%.
  • Telecommuting permitted up to 60%.
