Hybrid Opportunity in Boston MA or Portsmouth NH (in office two days per week)

 

We are seeking an Associate Consultant, Issues Management & Corporate Reputation that will play an important role on the company’s media and public relations team and report to the Senior Director of Issues Management & Corporate Reputation. This position will be responsible for planning and execution of key external communications efforts around large initiatives critical to the company’s reputation-building efforts, particularly around sustainability, insurance’s role in the economy, and various topics that intersect industry policy and regulation. This role resides in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and will help further position and protect the company in the marketplace.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and lead on select external communications efforts across priority corporate reputation-building initiatives. Key activities include coordinating projects across cross-functional working groups, writing company positions and message tracks, and executing strategic thought leadership campaigns via owned/earn/paid media and external executive speaking engagements.
  • Support the Corporate Reputation team in regularly evaluating the external landscape on key issues in order to evolve company positioning / messaging accordingly and identify appropriate stakeholder audiences for engagement.
  • Work within the broader Global Brand & Communications team to coordinate external communications planning alongside other initiatives, and to leverage internal channels to amplify external content.
  • Support the Corporate Reputation team’s stewardship of its issues management program, contributing to research, synthesis and ongoing monitoring of topics with the potential to impact the company’s reputation.
  • Lead the Corporate Reputation team’s tracking and internal reporting of all related communications activities. 
  • Collaborate with and assist in managing agency partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in Communications or related field).  
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant corporate communications experience in a corporate or agency environment. Experience in strategic external thought leadership campaigns, including media relations, strongly preferred.
  • A proven self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and build internal networks within a complex, matrixed organization.    
  • A sense of urgency and experience working in fast-paced, collaborative environment.    
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including executive presence.
  • Well versed in PR measurement tools.
  • Proficiency in GenAI communications tools.
  • A sense of curiosity and willingness to learn and distill details of complex topics.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
