Description

Are you passionate about influencing strategic decisions and safeguarding an organization’s future? As a key member of our Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team, you’ll drive high-impact risk analysis and create executive-level reporting packages that are integral to the success of our ERM programs. You'll contribute essential insights through regular presentations and committee involvement with senior leaders, helping to shape organizational strategy. Take ownership of project management for critical ERM initiatives, partnering with cross-functional teams to design and execute risk mitigation strategies, enhance risk management processes, and implement new regulatory requirements. Conduct research and analysis to inform these initiatives and support our company’s resilience. Proactively identify emerging risks and develop forward-thinking recommendations that help safeguard the organization’s future.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manages group-wide ERM initiatives across cross-functional teams, contributes to the development of analytical tools, processes, and methodologies, and occasionally presents to senior leaders.
  • Prepares and reviews technical materials and reporting packages for key meetings, including ERM committee sessions.
  • Conducts and reviews research and analysis on existing and emerging risks; supports implementation and drafts recommendations, occasionally leading initiatives to address specific risk issues.
  • Assists in the preparation and technical review of Liberty Mutual’s Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA), including modeling and analysis for annual updates, and supports and reviews assessments of Liberty Mutual’s ERM program by external parties, such as rating agencies and regulators.
  • Provides technical analysis and reviews to support Liberty Mutual’s advocacy on ERM and regulatory capital proposals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 6 to 8 years of relevant experience required, preferably in risk management or a related area.
  • Strong quantitative analysis and modeling skills required, with significant experience in an analytical role such as financial analysis, product management, actuarial, or underwriting.
  • Demonstrated project management experience, including leading cross-functional teams and driving initiatives to completion.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and present complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Deep understanding of insurance industry risk characteristics required.
  • Solid knowledge of basic financial concepts and metrics, including financial statement analysis, required.
  • Familiarity with ERM-related regulatory frameworks is a plus.

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
