Description

The Sr. Business Analyst, National Partner Operations is a critical member of the complex and highly visible NAM team, a group responsible for managing ~40% of the total premium within the IA Distribution channel (~$7B). This role drives profitable growth by delivering critical analyses, operational support, and high-impact project deliverables for our national agency partners. Provides advanced operational and consultative support to conduct more complex business operations and acts as data subject matter expert for the NAM (National Agency Management) organization. Performs research, analyzes information, presents findings, and assists in recommending changes and/or takes action based on various factors (e.g., data insights, regulatory changes, feedback from quality assurance reviews, market information, etc.) to solve problems, inform national agency strategies, and improve business outcomes for our portfolio of national partners. Performs business operations analysis, reporting, and special projects as assigned. Supports a portfolio of initiatives to enable profitable growth across IAD's (Independent Agency Distribution) national partners, inclusive of NAM-enterprise level strategies, partner-level strategies, and model-level strategies. Experience with queries, macros & basic SQL strongly preferred.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  1. Identifies business processes to review and performs research by gathering data from a variety of sources (e.g. operational data, metrics, competitor information, and feedback from business partners), in order to recommend strategies to drive profitable growth across our portfolio of national partners. Systems leveraged include Salesforce, SAS Viya, Snowflake, PowerBI, Excel and other internal reporting systems/structures.
  2. Analyzes information to identify trends, patterns, gaps, and insights using descriptive analytics. Enables NRE's (National Relationship Executives) to achieve key financial targets with national agency partners by pulling and preparing monthly/quarterly reports and relevant insights. Often uses data visualization tools to further business insights.
  3. Manages NAM data accuracy and coding within Salesforce to drive accurate reporting and surface insights for our national partners.
  4. Assists in building the business case for making a change to current practices, programs or procedures. Conducts current state assessments, opportunity assessments, cost/benefit analyses, feasibility assessments, etc. May own or support the implementation and evaluation of process changes.
  5. Serves as NAM representative and data SME across USRM reporting builds to ensure NAM needs are considered in all new reporting build-outs. As needed, serves as primary point of contact/advocate/SME for NAM across IA Distribution.
  6. Owns report development for reports considered of moderate complexity. Recommends changes to, makes modifications, prepares, and distributes standard and ad hoc reports/dashboards. Assists in developing presentations and shares findings as well as recommendations.
  7. Receives, evaluates and responds to data-related inquiries by applying knowledge of data and business operations and obtaining information from various sources.
  8. Provides operational support to the NAM team. Partners with NAM leadership to drive overall operational excellence for our national partners.
  9. Supports NAM leadership in the development of partner-level, model-level, and/or NAM enterprise strategies, including opportunity identification, tactical planning, development, and results monitoring. May provide partner-facing/external support and engagement to our national partners as needed related to these initiatives.
  10. Develops, executes, and manages national strategies to maximize profitability for Liberty Mutual, Safeco, and our national partners. Responsible for regular status reports and updates to leadership.

Qualifications

  • Displays effective research, problem solving, analytical, critical thinking, influencing, relationship management, and presentation skills
  • Solid business operations knowledge to include understanding the function`s value chain and market conditions
  • Ability to support change and impart value within an organization
  • Solid project management skills as part of implementing business process changes
  • Strong knowledge of Excel
  • Knowledge of available data sources, strengths, and shortcomings
  • Solid knowledge of database software preferred
  • Knowledge of business intelligence tools preferred
  • Competencies typically acquired through a Bachelor`s degree or equivalent experience in addition to 2+ years of relevant experience to include business analysis work

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
