Description

As the Head of Cyber Exposure Management, you will drive the day-to-day activities of an Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team that sits in the various business units that sets standards for ERM reporting and processes. Lead a team that develops, implements, and monitors ERM program controls and processes, performs risk analysis and modeling, and ensures that appropriate risk mitigation actions are taken to protect the company from material financial loss. Enable leaders at all levels of the company to better understand risk/reward tradeoffs that facilitate improved business decisions. Drive the identification of future sources of risk and provides recommendations or solutions on how to mitigate them.


Responsibilities
  • Manages multiple processes relative to the identification, analysis, control, or management of the enterprise`s risk portfolio. Oversee preparation of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group`s annual US-based Own Risk Solvency Assessment (ORSA) to MA Department of Insurance (DOI) and ERM overviews for annual rating agency presentations.
  • Participate in and routinely facilitate ERM committee discussions with senior executives across the company. Lead large-scale projects from concept to implementation. Collaborate with Global Retail Markets (GRM) and Global Risk Solution`s (GRS) ERM functions to ensure consistency of frameworks, risk metrics, and reporting.
  • Partner with GRM and GRS ERM functions, Compliance, and Investments to review risk portfolios and make recommendations to mitigate future risk. Develop and recommend risk mitigation strategies to ERM committees and assist in implementation.
  • Oversee the development of advanced analytical techniques, processes, concepts, and methodologies to ensure the organization has effective tools to evaluate and mitigate risk.
  • Drive standardization and improvement of processes that ensure timely collection of exposure/risk analytics data.
  • Consult with investments management, business units, compliance, and regulatory affairs groups on ERM-related issues.

Qualifications

  • Competencies typically acquired through a Bachelor`s degree in a quantitative field and 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is highly preferred, as is having a professional qualification in one or more areas of enterprise risk management or its equivalent
  • Additionally, excellent quantitative analysis and modeling skills, and significant experience in an analytical capacity (eg financial analysis, product management, actuarial, underwriting, etc) is highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of ERM-related regulatory frameworks (Solvency II, NAIC ORSA, ComFrame) is highly preferred
  • Experience managing a team is required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both formal and informal settings, as well as proven ability to effectively present technical concepts to non-technical individuals within and outside of the organization are highly preferred
  • Ability to foster and encourage teamwork and productive working relationships with stakeholders at all levels and across organizational lines required

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
