Description

Are you energized by building partnerships that move the needle? As a Client Executive in SPG, you’ll own the strategy and execution for affinity and broker programs that deliver measurable growth across Liberty Mutual’s omni-channel footprint. This is a high-visibility role where you’ll design and scale bold marketing initiatives, lead a distributed team, negotiate strategic agreements, and influence senior stakeholders — all with real autonomy to pilot new ideas and see the impact of your work on premium, retention, and customer experience.

About SPG: The Strategic Partnership Group is a core growth engine for Liberty Mutual, generating high-quality leads and competitive advantages through thousands of affinity partnerships and third-party appointments. SPG drives meaningful premium across our Direct channel by applying innovation, analytics, and best-in-class business development.

Role overview: You will lead a team of Relationship Managers and own a portfolio of strategic affinity, broker, and association accounts. Success in this role requires a strategic mindset and hands-on execution: developing a multi-year plan for the segment, influencing stakeholders across functions and at the C-suite level, and using analytics to evaluate campaign effectiveness. You’ll partner with Marketing, Analytics/Insights, Operations and Sourcing to implement scalable processes and best practices while driving new business, profitability, and retention.

What you’ll do…

  • Build and execute a five-year strategic plan for your segment that balances growth, profitability, and short-term KPIs — translating strategy into clear priorities and measurable outcomes.
  • Lead and coach a geographically dispersed team of Relationship Managers to optimize processes, resolve operational and commercial obstacles, and maintain strategic alignment across accounts.
  • Own and expand strategic affinity and broker relationships end-to-end — from prospecting and negotiation to renewals and retention — using strong business development and advanced negotiation skills.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Analytics/Insights to design digital-first marketing journeys, assess campaign performance using data, and iterate on approaches to maximize conversion and lifetime value.
  • Develop compelling business cases and executive-level presentations to influence internal and external stakeholders, including boards and C-suite decision makers.
  • Partner with Sourcing to identify and pursue high-priority prospects, lead contract negotiations, and drive renewal strategy that enhances profitability and partner satisfaction.
  • Apply an entrepreneurial approach to solve complex problems, prioritize competing demands, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

What you’ll bring… Typical backgrounds for strong candidates include: roughly 10+ years managing strategic relationships or similar client-facing roles, with at least 5 years in leadership/people-management. You have a track record of developing and executing strategic and marketing plans, managing multiple clients or broker relationships (experience with associations/non-profits preferred), and achieving measurable business development wins. You’re comfortable influencing stakeholders at all levels, skilled in storytelling and presentation, and familiar with insurance call center operations and digital marketing best practices.

Why you’ll thrive here…

  • High-impact, visible role where your strategic thinking and relationship skills translate directly to business results.
  • Opportunity to lead a distributed team and shape the future of affinity and broker partnerships at a well-respected national insurer.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with marketing, analytics, operations, and sourcing — a chance to broaden your leadership experience and influence.
  • Supportive, inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives and career growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor`s degree or equivalent experience required
  • Advanced degree such as MBA and/or CPCU certification preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of insurance operations including underwriting, sales, and loss prevention operations, as well as marketing, underwriting and financial analysis
  • Thorough knowledge of the Company`s services, products, and marketing techniques; insurance contracts, funding, and rating; and management
  • Highly effective oral and written communication skills, including, interviewing, training, presentation, persuasion, and negotiations
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, lead and get work done through others
