Description

We are hiring a Director, Product Research & Analytics on the Auto Product Design team. Our team designs auto product enhancements and evolves our offering strategy across all channels to drive profitable growth.  This position will focus on developing and deploying product strategies and levers to drive enforce profitability, retention, and loyalty. They will partner cross functionally on initiatives that are aimed at improving auto retention (i.e., outreach pilots.)

 

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Under minimal direction, provides highly technical and analytical assessments of product levers and opportunities.
  • Drives product strategies and creates new product concepts to improve retention.
  • Leads high complexity and long-term projects and analysis.
  • Drives research projects to completion through others.
  • Manages special projects. Sponsors projects impacting multiple functional areas.
  • Presents recommendations to Product leadership and cross-functional leadership teams 
  • Seeks opportunities to mentor others and may supervise intern or rotational analysts
  • May conduct competitive intelligence and understands market trends.
  • May build advanced tools & queries

 

We are looking for a candidate who is:

  • Intellectually curious - excited to solve complex problems and identify new opportunities
  • Analytical and technical ? able to gather, interpret, and evaluate data across multiple sources; proficient in SAS/Snowflake Self-driven with strong organizational skills and proactive follow through
  • Collaborative and engaged in contributing to a dynamic and inclusive team culture
  • Able to communicate clearly and partner with stakeholders across multiple teams

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent in mathematics, economics, statistics, or other quantitative field. Masters, PhD, or equivalent helpful given quantitative work they are leading.
  • Minimum of 7, typically 10 years or more relevant work experience.
  • Expert skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical software packages (e.g., SAS, Emblem).
  • Must have exceptional planning, analytical, decision-making, communication, and project management skills.
  • Expert knowledge of data sources, tools, and the business (lines, systems, pricing plans), predictive modeling, and code (e.g., SQL).
  • Significant understanding of competitors' pricing strategies and relationship to our own.
  • Industry knowledge developed from internal meetings, news alerts, project-specific work, and proactive research into competitor strategies.

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
