Description

Liberty Mutual’s Global Risk Solutions seeks a visionary and results-driven Operational Excellence Leader to establish and lead our Operational Excellence Center of Excellence (CoE). This senior leadership role is charged with driving enterprise-wide process transformation aligned with strategic business priorities, embedding a culture of continuous improvement, and accelerating operational efficiency through automation and innovation.

 

You will be responsible for strategic executive alignment, oversight, and governance of the operational excellence portfolio, working closely with GRS Office of Operations Leadership Team and Technology partners. This role is pivotal in orchestrating cross-functional collaboration, ensuring disciplined execution while championing sustainable change across the organization.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Collaborate with Global Operations and Segment Leadership teams to build a portfolio of value-driven transformation initiatives that benefit from CoE expertise and deploy appropriate COE engagement model(s) that maximize the value added.
  • Facilitate prioritization and resource allocation of work requested from CoE and collaborate with Global Operations, Segments, Global Business Agility, Technology, and Data organizations to coordinate scope, deliverables, and resourcing of initiatives.  
  • Own the operational governance (pipeline management, portfolio execution, monitoring and measurement of progress and key results for select initiatives) and provide actionable insights to senior leadership on the overall portfolio.
  • Lead time bound key strategic initiatives that advance the maturity of the Operational Excellence practice partnering across teams, utilizing external and internal research, building business case/recommendation, and implementation ready execution plans.
  • Partner with business leaders to provide strategic insight and alternative perspectives, constructively challenging assumptions, and mindsets to drive alignment and innovation.
  • Champion organizational adoption of operational excellence methodologies across the Office of Operations, acting as a change leader and driving effective change management.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead through ambiguity and adapt strategies in response to evolving business conditions, market dynamics, and organizational priorities.
  • Proven success in navigating complex environments and driving transformation amid uncertainty.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Bachelors’ degree required; advanced degree or executive leadership credential preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership roles delivering enterprise-wide process excellence and operational transformation in insurance or other highly regulated industries.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex, cross-functional programs with executive visibility, balancing strategic imperatives and pragmatic delivery.
  • Strong expertise in change management, organizational adoption, and program governance best practices.
  • Exceptional influencing, communication, and stakeholder management skills at senior levels.
  • Experience partnering with technology and data teams to leverage automation and analytics in process improvement initiatives; strategic understanding of emerging AI/ML opportunities beneficial.

  • Bachelor`s degree and minimum of 7 years of experience
  • Strategic mindset and ability to work cross functionally at a fast pace; Demonstrated ability to lead complex strategic initiatives, influencing without authority across a wide range of groups; Advanced initiative management skills?governance, influencing, problem solving, pace setting
  • Excellent communication skills?written and verbal, utilizing the appropriate medium to align, influence, and drive clarity in ownership of key work; Quantitative skills with the ability to define and measure success of key initiatives against overall goals

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
