Description

Works independently to perform a variety of duties including entering data, processing transactions, obtaining information, and interacting with internal and external customers. Acts as a subject matter expert on a project, workflow, or state.


Responsibilities
  • Author property inspection reports that identify features, hazards, loss control opportunities, and the condition of homes. Calculate reconstruction cost utilizing third party calculation tools. Provide accurate and detailed commentary within inspection reports that summarize the risk and any recommended action.
  • Interpret and explain complex information in an easily understandable manner to insureds, agents, company staff
  • Identify opportunities for improvement within the inspection process, and work with Risk Engineering and Business Leadership to implement changes that will ensure maximum efficiency and quality while minimizing cost
  • Continue to increase and broaden knowledge / expertise of the loss control discipline through available training programs. Be aware of industry trends, developments, changes, and state of the art practices to ensure continued efficient risk evaluation and assessment.
  • Exhibit positive demeanor and professional behavior towards co-workers, clients, and customers

 

Qualifications

  • Knowledge, skills and capabilities typically acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent experience, plus a minimum of three years of related work experience is required
  • Strong interpersonal skills needed in order to communicate effectively with customers and other staff
  • Requires ability to perform detailed work (eg review and prepare documentation)
  • Strong knowledge of systems and personal computer workstations preferred
  • Proficient working knowledge of personal and business lines operations, underwriting rules, guidelines, rating manual rules, products, processes
