As a Senior Technical Claims Specialist, you will:

  • Lead end-to-end claim management for highly complex commercial casualty claims, including coverage determination, investigation, liability assessment, reserve setting, litigation strategy, and resolution.
  • Handle Construction Defect claims across various policy structures, including high-retention programs, captives, and fully fronted arrangements.
  • Draft and manage coverage positions—including additional insured and contractual tenders—and oversee coverage litigation when necessary.
  • Review construction contracts, COIs, and legal filings to establish resolution strategies and determine allocation, time-on-risk, and covered vs. non-covered damages.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including policyholders, brokers, co-carriers, counsel, underwriting, and client services.
  • Manage outside counsel billing and performance, ensuring cost-effective litigation practices.
  • Document claims thoroughly using electronic systems and prepare specialized reports (e.g., Large Loss Reports) for key accounts.
  • Mentor and train staff, contribute to process improvements, and participate in strategic projects.
  • Stay current on legal and industry trends and advise Claims Management on potential impacts to policy and procedure.
