Description

The Senior Product Manager Financial Lines will be responsible for Product Development, Maintenance, Drafting (subject to Claim and Legal Review), Coverage Training, Guideline Creation, Filing Strategy/Objection Handling, and Producer Engagement for multiple Financial Lines Products with a focus on Management and Professional Liability lines for Financial Institutions.  The Senior Product Manager will:

 

  • Manage all phases of the Product Development lifecycle for assigned products on behalf of the profit center from product design to drafting, internal review, filing, training, guidance, and system deployment;
  • Build efficient workflows, underwriting, and coverage guidance, for assigned products to position the book for the optimal portfolio mix of business;
  • Ensure connectivity with the claim and actuarial teams to effectuate the model profit center for real time feedback loops and agility;

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain our competitive edge by reviewing competitor filings, responding to new coverage offerings, and equipping our underwriters with saleable talking points around the benefits of coverage from Liberty Mutual Financial Lines;
  • Support large deal/account transactions in coverage negotiations, providing tailored solutions to unique coverage requests, and clearly articulating our intent;
  • Enable producer panels through efficiently and effectively providing market leading coverage provisions that strengthen our brand, market presence, and market share;
  • Participate in and represent the profit center in global risk management initiatives including emerging risk committees and coordinating global offerings;
  • Drive retirement of older products that no longer need to be supported;
  • Create coverage content for both internal and external consumption demonstrating thought leadership at Liberty Mutual; and
  • Manage producer requests to use proprietary products in their distribution channels, providing thoughtful coverage leadership where mutually beneficial to Liberty and our distributors.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Business or equivalent typically required
  • A minimum of 10 years progressive underwriting experience expected, including a minimum of 4 years of proven underwriting management experience, preferred
  • CPCU or professional insurance designation preferred
  • Proven analytical ability to evaluate high impact underwriting risks within scope of responsibility
  • Demonstrated expert-level ability to communicate complex analyses and information
  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with internal and external partners required

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
