What you’ll do

  • Build and continuously improve analytics that help the Claims organization understand performance at a detailed level.
  • Partner closely with field claims, claims operations/practice teams, and analytics teams across the company to share best practices and learnings.
  • Create benchmarking tools and performance insights for Workers Compensation and Commercial Property.
  • Analyze claims outcomes and the impact of claims initiatives; recommend actions based on data.

  • Spot problems and develop analytical solutions that improve business unit profitability.
  • Lead monthly operational reviews with senior leadership; provide meaningful metrics and analysis and improve the process over time.
  • Help shape the strategy of the Claims organization as part of line-of-business leadership teams.

  • Experience with claims operations and financial planning is helpful but not required.
  • Workers Compensation experience and understanding of medical data are preferred.
  • Excellent communication and relationship skills; ability to inspire others and work across diverse teams.
  • Strong strategic thinking: make complex decisions, innovate, and handle ambiguity.
  • Outstanding analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with a track record of influencing senior leaders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, or another quantitative field.
  • 10+ years of experience, including leadership experience; insurance experience preferred.
  • Proven experience leading an analytics team (required).
  • FCAS/ACAS or data science experience is a plus, but this is not an actuarial or data science role. You will work closely with actuaries and data scientists and need to understand their work and how it connects with our own.
