Join a high-impact finance team driving enterprise-wide transformation. As Director of Enterprise Expense Reporting & Insights, you will lead the development of enterprise expense reporting capabilities and shape the budgeting and expense decision-making best practices across Liberty Mutual. This role offers a unique opportunity to inform executive-level decision-making, partner across business units, and drive strategic initiatives that enhance transparency, accountability, and expense discipline across the organization.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Hires, develops, provides coaching to, and makes compensation recommendations for, assigned staff.  Defines individual performance objectives and development plans and ensures alignment with project and unit objectives.
  • Build and lead enterprise-wide expense reporting systems and dashboards in collaboration with financial systems, Global Finance Technology (GFT,) and data governance teams.
  • Own consolidated corporate expense reporting and partner with Functional FP&A teams to deliver insights to Executive Leadership Teams (ELT) and Board of Directors (BOD).
  • Drive quarterly Enterprise Expense Monthly Operational Reporting (MORs), curating topics and analytics for CFO-level engagement.
  • Coordinate monthly expense planning working teams across our different LOBs to align priorities and share best practices.
  • Lead the enterprise compensation planning process in partnership with Global Compensation and BU finance teams.
  • Champion the annual Expense Learning Journey, designing training modules and embedding expense discipline across the enterprise.
  • Spearhead the Budget Owner Responsibility workstream, establishing consistent tools, training, and accountability standards.
  • Oversee expense savings and strategic investment monitoring in collaboration with capital planning, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of experience or the equivalent required. MBA preferred.
  • Superior analytical and critical reasoning skills with an ability to effectively communicate and convey messaging to executives
  • Demonstrated management experience leading high performing teams
  • P&C Insurance experience preferred
  • Effective skills for writing reports/proposals and creating/making presentations.
  • Strong influencing skills in order to be seen as the decision maker when interfacing across teams
  • Must be driven and flexible to succeed in ambiguous and less structured situations. Comfortable with making decisions with some level of uncertainty.
  • Will need to influence actions and drive results among parties with different agendas and reporting relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional groups during decision making.

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
