Description

This is a hybrid opportunity (2 days in office) for candidates residing within 50 miles of the following locations: Boston MA, Portsmouth NH, Seattle WA, Indianapolis IN, Columbus OH, Plano TX. Preferred locations: Boston MA, Portsmouth NH, Plano TX.

 

As Senior Program Manager, Employee Volunteering & Giving at Liberty Mutual, you will combine strategic vision with high‑energy, people‑first execution to design, launch, and scale global volunteer and giving programs that drive measurable community impact and advance the LMI Foundation’s priorities. You will mobilize employees, coach local champions, and build strong partnerships with nonprofit partners and internal stakeholders to localize initiatives and increase participation. A natural connector who is engaging and persuasive, you will influence leaders and groups at every level, manage large strategic initiatives, and use data and stakeholder feedback to iterate programs that embed philanthropy into our culture and operations.

 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Drive the expansion and implementation of Liberty’s Employee Community Engagement strategy, managing programs that increase employee volunteerism and charitable giving, expand community impact, and advance business objectives of bringing Liberty’s purpose to life in the communities we serve.
  • Design and deliver measurable roadmaps and KPIs for employee engagement; prioritize initiatives, deploy resources, and use data and stakeholder input to boost program effectiveness and employee experience
  • Mobilize employees through compelling activation campaigns, toolkits and events that motivate volunteerism and charitable giving across regions and employee populations.
  • Recruit, coach and energize a global network of volunteer leaders, site champions and ERG partners; build leadership pipelines and local ownership to sustain participation and expand reach.
  • Lead large scale volunteer initiatives and signature events that engage senior executives and link employee engagement to business and community outcomes.
  • Build and steward strategic nonprofit and community partnerships; capture and amplify participant stories and impact metrics.
  • Manage platforms and vendors (e.g., Benevity, CyberGrants or similar), monitor budgets and operational processes; apply technology to boost reach and efficiency.
  • Influence and partner with cross‑functional stakeholders and present insights, recommendations and annual impact reporting to support and scale successful programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; 5–10+ years in program management and/or employee engagement; executing several projects at one time
  • Experience with non-profit organizations along with proven success mobilizing people at scale.
  • Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills: energetic presenter, skilled at educating employee volunteers, persuasive influencer, comfortable engaging executives and frontline employees alike.
  • Partner with Human Resources, Communications, and other teams to weave community engagement into enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Data‑driven with experience, using dashboards. to detect patterns and convey results through concise, compelling narratives.
  • Experience with employee engagement software (Benevity, CyberGrants, or comparable systems) preferred.
  • Experience scaling programs internationally and working with ERGs.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit/vendor management.
  • Track record of telling impact stories that drive continued engagement and leadership buy‑in.

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
