Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Scrum Master to join our USRM Small Commercial Underwriting Technology Team, someone who can help build upon our fun and hard-working team culture.  The successful candidate will have excellent engineering and collaboration skills; agile delivery experience and has a track record of delivering value through an exceptional User Experience. 

 

In this role you will lead the growth of organizational agility, foster high-performing teams, and drive the delivery of innovative underwriting solutions that enhance risk assessment and streamline processes. You will lead the delivery within and across domains guiding the coordination, synchronization and alignment of portfolio teams needed to deliver large solution value; strategic advisor to Domain leadership team on the product interaction model and enabling business agility.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Coaches and mentors other SMs, managers, and POs to improve both their own and other knowledge and skills; Shares best practices across the organization.
  • Acts as a point of contact for stakeholders, facilitating communication, managing expectations, and providing regular updates.
  • Responsible for ensuring coordination of delivery across teams in an efficient manner.
  • Oversees delivery within a domain in partnership with PPOs to optimize delivery with high quality outcomes that are aligned to organizational goals
  • Define assessment models and indicators to assess the health and effectiveness of the value stream and drive Domain improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the large solution team and domain delivery capabilities.
  • Provides coaching, mentoring, and consulting to Domain and Portfolio Leadership on good agile, lean-agile, or product mindset practices to accelerate maturity and remove organizational barriers to agility.
  • Applies systems thinking to streamline value delivery
  • Works with SM II’s and product team leaders to manage dependencies, mitigate risks, address blockers, and impediments that may impact the large solutions team’s progress/ ability to deliver value.
  • Drives usage of data and metrics to balance product delivery and engineering excellence.
  • Facilitates at scale to enable effective collaboration, communication, and alignment among portfolio teams and stakeholders, driving Domain business agility

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor`s degree in a relevant field (business, computer science, humanities, etc.)
  • Minimum 6 years of IT and program management and experience working in an Agile team, including coaching on Lean-Agile approaches; Minimum of 8 years in a leadership position, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Knowledge/training equivalent to at least one advanced certification from a reputable Lean/agile organization preferred, not required
  • (SPS, SAFe SPC, SAFe SM, ICAgile Professional) Agile Team Facilitation (ICP-ATF), ICAgile Professional, Agile Coaching (ICP-ACC))
  • Requires excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and team building skills, and business judgement
  • In-depth knowledge of business functions and extensive understanding of business operations, strategies and objectives
  • Ability to effectively apply scaling frameworks and methodologies

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
