Description

The Marketing Specialist is an impactful role on Liberty Mutual’s Large Partnership Marketing team, reporting to the Director II of Partnership Marketing. Large Partnership Marketing provides support to Liberty Mutual’s Strategic Partnership Group (SPG), whose efforts strive to evolve and expand our external partnerships with national and global organizations in the Automotive and Transportation, Voluntary Benefits, and alumni segments along with various consumer segments.  The team is responsible for providing end-to-end marketing support to drive profitable growth and increase Liberty Mutual’s customer base through partnerships. The team works closely with Strategic Partnerships and external stakeholders to define strategies and go-to-market plans, and with Marketing Insights to ensure that those plans are informed by customer insights.

 

As Marketing Specialist, you will ideate, plan, develop, and successfully execute strategic planning and integrated marketing campaigns aligned to support Liberty Mutual’s partnerships segments. You will be responsible for end-to-end marketing strategy and go-to-market commercialization; partnering closely with SPG, Marketing Analytics and external stakeholders throughout the planning, launch and optimization process; deliver on consideration and sales objectives for these initiatives.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as end-to-end day to day marketing lead for marketing strategy across various marketing tactics (direct mail, email, SMS, call, etc.) with internal and external vendor partners
  • Partner with SPG and external partner contacts across the campaign life cycle from creative briefing to post-campaign analysis to sell in the strategies
  • Work with the Insights team to research target consumer and unmet needs and work with internal agency stakeholders or external creative agencies from strategy through to execution
  • Partner with Marketing Analytics team to determine campaign success; leverage data to inform go-forward marketing decisions and communicate results and plans to external partners
  • Present information, learnings, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and external partners - clearly and confidently
  • Assist SPG with their scalability initiatives
  • Ideate and build a strategic business case utilizing data on developing innovative new to Liberty Mutual marketing tactics and campaigns to sell in internally and externally

Key Challenges and Skills Needed:    

  • The Large Partnership Marketing team partners with colleagues across departments and projects. You should be able to work with a wide range of cross-functional stakeholders at all levels and possess a track record of success in influencing decisions across numerous projects.
  • The priorities of SPG are evolving daily, and the future vision beyond direct and email marketing is ambiguous.  You should be able to deal with ambiguity and work with partners to help bring definition and structure to move projects forward.
  • As the lead for Large Partnership Marketing strategy, you should be able to represent all aspects of the projects to senior leadership and be comfortable presenting plans and results in all forums.
  • The Partnership Marketing team is constantly looking for ways to improve and change to meet the needs of the organization and our partners.
  • You should have a passion for continuous learning and an appetite for exploring and defining new ways of operating for marketing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor`s degree with a concentration in Marketing, Business Administration or Communications preferred or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant and progressively more responsible experience within a marketing driven organization
  • Requires advanced knowledge of marketing communications principles and practices
  • Experience working with and/or managing outside agencies
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work on multiple priorities
  • Strong knowledge of relevant technologies
  • Strong organizational, coordination, project management, and analytical skills
  • Strong presentation skills required
  • Budget management and project management experience preferred
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
  • Proactively seeks to learn and apply new tactics and job skills to enhance current role and improve broader team`s performance
  • Demonstrates understanding of insurance industry, products, services, and trends
  • Actively seeks to expand and integrate marketing knowledge and skills into recommendations, as well as function responsibilities and the connection to the broader organization

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
