The Experience Research team is home to talented market researchers and user experience researchers who work together to support the US Retail Markets functions and priorities. Our team’s mission is to understand our prospects, customers, agents, better than anyone in the industry to guide decision-making, strategy, and create competitive advantage.

 

We are seeking a dynamic and data-driven Principal Researcher to join our Experience Research team focusing on the Servicing experience. This role engages with senior stakeholders across U.S. Retail Markets Servicing and requires a deep understanding of the business priorities. You will spend a majority of your time planning and executing complex research, while also partnering with stakeholders as a thought leader in guiding strategic decisions. This role will partner with our operations, analytics, product, and design teams to shape the servicing experience across customers, frontline representatives, and independent agents.

The role:

 

In this role, you will produce insights that will support key priorities within our Servicing organization to help drive the strategy and optimize experiences for our customers, frontline employees, independent agents, and digital capabilities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Lead the Servicing research agenda, which includes managing stakeholders, prioritizing work utilizing the USRM business priorities, as well as working alongside and mentoring junior researchers
  • Spearhead custom, unique and highly complex research initiatives to inform our servicing strategies, directly impacting our user experiences and driving business outcomes
  • Champion our end-users by seamlessly integrating insights from diverse sources, including primary and secondary research, industry news, and operational data Forge high-trust partnerships with colleagues across multiple teams and departments, fostering collaboration and innovation
  •  Be a recognized expert within the organization utilize expert-level knowledge to train others in user research methodologies and educate stakeholders on best practices and standards
  •  Lead high-visibility research projects, collaborating closely with key stakeholders such as Insights & Solutions, Design, Product Solutions, and more
  •  Influence business partners to act on research insights by providing clear, actionable recommendations and relevant business context
  •  Communicate findings with clarity and impact, tailoring your message for senior and executive-level stakeholders
  •  Embrace diversity of perspective and foster effective collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals.
  • AI experience is preferred 

 

Qualifications:

 

  •  8+ years of Market Research experience in a corporate agile setting,
  • Bachelor’s degree in Market Research, Marketing, Business, Economics, Statistics or related field; or 6+ years of Market Research experience with Master’s degree; or 3+ years of Market Research with a PhD
  •  Expertise in a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methods, including surveys, competitive benchmarking, focus groups, and in-depth interviews
  •  Exceptional communication skills, adept at translating data into actionable insights both verbally and in writing
  • Expertise in data-driven storytelling, transforming raw data into compelling narratives and visualizations Expertise in databases, querying tools, and statistical programs such as SAS, SPSS, R, MarketSight, Displayr
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and staying current with industry techniques and tools
  • Strong organizational, analytical, critical thinking, and team-building abilities
  • Proven track record of effective collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 7-10 years of business experience applying market research and database marketing analysis to business planning. Advanced business degree preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of different types of marketing research, including the benefits and limitations of each.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret complex research results, apply them to business issues, and make recommendations for action.

Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
