Description

  • Under general direction, acts as a technical expert who consults on highly complex projects.
  • Devises or modifies procedures to solve technical problems.
  • Responsible for system analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.
  • Leads and directs the work of team members.
  • May mentor junior team members.
  • Develops component design.
  • Develops system/application architecture.
  • Develops maintainable/scalable, effective, defect free source code that meets business requirements and team standards.
  • Conducts unit test case development.
  • Develops highly complex test scripts.
  • Identify and implements appropriate continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Contributes technical alternatives.
  • Telecommuting permitted up to 100%.

Qualifications

Employer will accept a bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Applied Computer Science or related field and 8 years of experience in the job offered or in a Principal Software Engineer-related occupation.
Position also requires 8 years of experience in the following:

  • Java.
  • Spring.
  • REST API Design and Development.
  • SOAP Service.
  • Microservices.
  • Agile Methodology.
  • IT concepts, strategies and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated understanding and practical implementation knowledge of SOLID design principles and design patterns.
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of diverse and emerging technologies and new architectural concepts and principles.
  • Software engineering languages and tools.
  • Demonstrated in-depth understanding of layered solutions and designs, shared software concepts and product features, and security.
  • Business operations, objectives and strategies, global business and technology trends and the financial services industry.
  • Telecommuting permitted up to 100%.
