This highly visible and critical role within P&S Product is charged with leading the product design and development team. In this role, the leader is accountable for managing complex, large-scale, and specialized projects that impact product development, product offering, and experience for Property and Specialty lines of business. This role will need to proactively identify impactful opportunities for product design and optimization and drive prioritization within the team to drive outcomes and profitable growth for P&S. The team acts as a business sponsor for projects aimed at driving change across departments within product and other functions, which requires skilled communication and influence to drive leadership buy-in. This role will lead a team of highly analytic individual contributors in addition to a people leader with an additional team of experienced analysts.

Key responsibilities include:

 

 

  • Lead Property Product Development: Oversee the design and development of property product updates (coverages and features) by collaborating closely with distribution leadership, claims, legal, IT, and other internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on design, experience, requirements, and offer strategy.
  • Identify and Manage Key Product Initiatives: Drive critical projects such as identifying and evaluating program enhancements, coverage structure and offering, and quote flow optimization among others.  As a business sponsor, this team is responsible for ensuring progress from concept through implementation while coordinating with delivery teams and other functions.
  • Analyze and Evaluate Product Data: Guide the team in conducting granular analyses on property components and coverage implications, leveraging data insights to inform product decisions and strategies.
  • Partner with Claims: Act as a key liaison between product development and claims, leading discussions where strong connectivity is required across initiatives such as coverage offering or contract updates to ensure we are cohesively driving to profitable outcomes through controlled loss costs.
  • Coordinate Internal and External Communications: This team has a high degree of communication responsibility.  The leader and team will prepare and present updates and recommendations on initiatives to gain alignment both within Product and other stakeholder teams, driving transparency and awareness on key projects.
  • Support Strategic Goals and Innovation: Provide strategic vision as well as tactical design and execution for product innovations such as affordability initiatives and protection strategies, contributing to the long-term evolution of the property insurance portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Highly developed quantitative analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Proven ability to influence other leaders across an organization 10+ years progressively responsible work experience in an analytically driven environment
  • Previous experience in consulting or call center / customer service analytics in insurance or financial services preferred but not required
  • MBA or advanced degree in quantitative field preferred but not required

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
