Description

Independently plans and monitors the completion of bookclose processes and financial reports in a deadline focused environment, while ensuring that issues are escalated as needed. Uses increasing expertise to process detailed information with high levels of accuracy and to research and apply accounting policy. Communicates effectively with other units and management to plan work, gather information, and present results. Leads efforts to continuously improve processes to produce relevant financial reports in the fastest, most efficient means possible.

 

This position is on the Production and Innovation team within Accounting Operations.  Primary responsibilities include working with business stakeholders and third parties collecting and analyzing data related to our non-traditional revenue sources in order to prepare monthly journal entries, complete quarterly, annual and adhoc regulatory filings and complete account reconciliations.  Collaborates to set up accounting for new revenue sources in partnership with business stakeholders and third parties.


Responsibilities

Oversees functions of the monthly, quarterly and annual book close cycles, monitoring timely completion and escalating issues for resolution. Accurately and efficiently performs accounting activities of increasing complexity. Creates increasingly complex financial statement schedules, audit support schedules and other reports in a timely manner. May perform detailed review of other team members` schedules. Researches and applies accounting policy to business issues that arise. Establishes, documents and performs internal control procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Understands how data flows through the financial systems to the accounting function in order to identify issues and take action to address them. Continually assesses the business value and efficiency of the work performed, making suggestions for improvements and collaborating with others in implementing them. Leads or actively participates in increasingly complex department projects and continuous improvement activities. Fosters the development of teammates by sharing expertise and experience through training or reviewing their work. May provide feedback on performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor`s degree (Accounting or Finance) and a minimum of 3 years of accounting or finance experience preferred
  • Must demonstrate attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously to achieve results
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with teammates and others, leading meetings and interacting with increasingly higher levels of management to gather information and effectively present results/recommendations
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word is preferred
