US Retail Markets (USRM) Technology is seeking a strategic and visionary engineering leader to serve as Engineering Director for our Solaria Labs USRM Incubation Engineering team. In this role, you’ll lead a high-performing team within the USRM Innovation Enablement organization, focused on accelerating the delivery of innovative, tech-forward solutions. You’ll shape and drive the engineering strategy behind incubation initiatives that explore and apply emerging technologies such as GenAI, while leveraging modern engineering platforms and experimentation frameworks to accelerate learning and unlock new business value. This role partners closely with Solaria Labs, Liberty’s enterprise incubator known for bold experimentation, applied science, and rapid in-market testing to uncover scalable opportunities. This collaboration fuels prototyping, platform development, and the launch of innovative solutions that contribute to Liberty’s broader innovation ecosystem.
As Engineering Director, you will be responsible for building, developing, and empowering a high-performing engineering team that delivers innovative, scalable solutions. You will lead both people leaders and senior technical leaders, overseeing talent development and resource alignment to ensure the team is positioned to meet evolving business priorities. As a senior leader, you will also contribute to broader organizational planning and serve as a thought leader who advances the craft of engineering across USRM and Liberty Mutual.

Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
