  • Collaborative partner: Working side-by-side with our product owner, business colleagues and fellow engineers, you'll tackle engaging technical challenges and ensure quality in an ever-evolving modern ecosystem.
  • Comprehensive problem solver: As you collaborate to manage the end-to-end development of software products, you'll analyze new requirements and help solve design challenges, debug errors and refactor code, and effectively anticipate/handle complications that may arise by implementing solutions in a complex ecosystem.
  • Customer-centric engineer: Putting clients’ needs first, you’ll translate customer requirements into technical applications and support the implementation of new software.
  • Forward thinker: Merely fixing a problem isn’t enough; using your proactive mindset and initiative, you’ll also identify opportunities to enhance performance, quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience delivering software in large, distributed technical ecosystem using agile practices such as Scrum, Kanban or XP
  • Proficient with C#, Java, JavaScript/Typescript, .Net, React, CI_CD pipelines (e.g., Bamboo, GitHub), testing concepts and frameworks
  • Familiarity with Linux and command-line tools, NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB), runtime environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Open Cloud Foundry), REST APIs.
  • Highly competitive candidate will have experience event-driven technologies such as Kafka and AWS SQS/SNS, OAuth API security and OIDC patterns, AWS Cloud Formation.
  • A thorough grasp of technology concepts, design and development tools, DevOps, system architecture and technical standards
  • Experience and understanding of application observability/analytics tools such as Splunk and Data Dog
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with experience writing technical documentation and explaining technical concepts to audiences of varied roles and backgrounds
  • Collaborative workstyle, demonstrated initiative, and the ability to balance your time and efforts across multiple priorities
  • Agile engineering capabilities and product thinking mindset
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience

Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
