Description

The Litigation General Support Associate provides administrative support primarily for Paralegals as well as the broader department. Maintains a close and highly responsive relationship to the day-to-day activities of the team. Works collaboratively with all department team members. Focus is on more standard administrative support duties & providing general support to department & support to Paralegals: reviewing & routing incoming mail, triaging coverage referrals to Coverage Attorneys, processing documents, tracking data, etc.

 

You will be required to go into the office twice a week if you reside within 50 miles of one of the following offices: Boston, MA or Portsmouth, NHPlease note this policy is subject to change.


Responsibilities

  • Triaging and assignment of the Coverage Referrals for Coverage Attorneys.
  • Provides support to the Home Office Service of Process team, identifying the proper location/department for incoming service documents.
  • Review and processing of all incoming mail to HO Legal and assigning to appropriate location.
  • Complex Subpoena Mailbox assignments and tracking.
  • Follows up on inquiries and acts as a liaison between paralegal team and departmental agencies, courts, and other legal entities.
  • Provides Litigation & Coverage Support or CSU for Paralegals.
  • Supports the Litigation and Coverage Group with various file openings and other processing functions.
  • Works with Claims partners to process mail and various communications as requested by paralegal team.
  • Uses company software applications and claims and underwriting related systems.
  • Utilizes SharePoint and Excel for tracking case related data.
  • Establishes, maintains, and when necessary, organizes files. Prints, sorts, and scans standard case related documents.
  • Performs other related support duties as requested, such as answering phones, processing mail, assisting customers, scanning, photocopying, invoice processing and special projects, as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Dependability, attention to detail, and ability to follow/interpret procedures
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures with ability to use software applications (such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills required to help resolve routine problems, answer general questions, and know when to escalate more complex issues.
  • Knowledge of standard office equipment and word processing.
  • Competencies typically acquired through a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 0 to 2 years of relevant customer service and/or administrative experience.
