Under general supervision, contributes to the growth and profitability of assigned specialty product line(s) through marketing, underwriting, and managing of products and services of moderate risks. Works within defined limits and authorities on assignments of moderate complexity. Some risks may require special handling or unusual coverage. Demonstrates functional technical knowledge of underwriting concepts, practices, procedures, and techniques to include coverage issues, product lines, marketing, relevant systems, and competition in the marketplace.
Responsibilities
Assess fewer complex risks cases relative to more senior colleagues, and/or referral, and make recommendations for underwriting decisions.
Execute and/or contribute to marketing plans and teams’ projects (e.g. around process / tool improvement).
Establish and maintain relationships with key external parties (brokers, agents).
Mainly focus on developing underwriting skills, plus relationships with internal stakeholders and partners (e.g. UW Support, Claims, Actuarial, etc.), using own understanding of how these teams work together to help inform underwriting decisions.
Continue building underwriting expertise using both internal and external resources.
Could contribute to the analysis of the team's portfolio.
Can manage the quality of data within relevant systems for the team's book of business.

Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
