Description

Provides commercial lines customers with consultation services for an array of risk control products/services through the successful completion of an entry-level training program and experience. Conducts extensive research, data collection and evaluation and analysis in order to make recommendations to control customer's source of risk, loss and/or costs.

 

**The Jurisdictional Boiler Inspector/Trainee will be traveling to assigned territory: HoustonTexas; DallasTexas; AustinTexas. In order to be successful within the role, candidates should live within this area or very close to. Please note this policy is subject to change.**

 

A regular work day will be in the field within your assigned local territory at least 50%.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts research and data collection which helps to identify customer's source of risk, loss and costs. Compiles facts from on-site visit, various reports and databases to assess existing processes/practices, and determine severity/frequency of problems, and identify needs. Assesses and benchmarks customers performance against internal and industry standards. Prepares technical reports which reports and evaluates data.
  • Interprets and analyzes data to determine best course of action and/or solution that satisfies customer's risk services needs. Organizes data into a format which can easily be presented to customer. Assists with preparing and presenting reports which outline action plan for improved practices and/or changing workforce cultures/behaviors.
  • Provides quality consulting services to customers. Builds and maintains effective partnerships with customers establishes credibility. Learns about customer's business in order to identify loss control objectives and needs. Ensures accurate and concise communication and mutual understanding with customers. Keeps customers informed of status of services, support material available and outside resources relevant to identify customers safety concerns.
  • Participates in training and development of customers. May assist with overseeing implementation of loss control program(s). Provides technical support to assist with implementation of recommendations/action plans. Counsels customers and other staff members regarding technical issues.
  • Participates in actively acquiring and retaining profitable business.
  • Actively pursues professional development efforts to better meet customer expectations.
  • Performs additional duties and/or handles special assignments as requested.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and successful completion of entry level training program plus 3 years or months of related experience required
  • Understanding of property/casualty insurance products, services and loss control concepts (risk assessment, risk analysis, solutions management, progress measurement, etc
  • Effective written, oral, and interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with customers; ability to conduct extensive research, evaluation and analysis; and a demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance
  • Position requires travel, including regular customer site visits
  • Masters degree or designation(s) in related field preferred
