USRM is about to embark on a multiyear transformational journey to simplify and modernize its Product offering and its Technology. As we begin this multiyear journey, we are looking to comprehensively overhaul our end-to-end PL Auto processes using artificial intelligence to simplify and modernize our ecosystem.

Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and forward-thinking Individual Contributor to join our OneAuto Product Program team to identify opportunities to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) to accelerate and enhance our auto program design and delivery. You will analyze current workflows, uncover areas that can benefit from AI-driven automation or augmentation, and help design smarter, faster solutions. You’ll help guide our Auto Product Organization from competitive landscape evaluation to requirements definition and forms and contracts evaluation, all the way through to execution. This role is key in shaping the future of AI-driven assistance in our Auto Product organization, beginning with new business rollouts, but paving the pathway for legacy program migrations and future auto program refreshes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to understand the existing auto product design and delivery processes and identify pain points and inefficiencies.
  • Research and evaluate AI technologies and tools relevant to auto rating, modeling and underwriting workflows.
  • Develop and recommend AI-driven strategies to simplify and optimize the OneAuto Product delivery and development roadmap.
  • Propose and pilot AI solutions that can automate repetitive tasks, improve accuracy, or enhance decision-making.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging AI trends and assess their applicability to our business needs.
  • Document findings, create presentations, and communicate recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of AI-powered initiatives within the OneAuto program.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of auto insurance rating methodologies with hands-on experience working with relevant data sets such as pricing configurations, underwriting, forms development, third party data, telematics, coverage details, claims etc.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance considerations related to auto insurance pricing and rating.
  • Experience working with AI, machine learning, or automation technologies, preferably in insurance or financial services.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex processes.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently as an individual contributor.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify business opportunities for AI integration and deliver practical solutions.
  • Passion for innovation and continuous learning in emerging technologies.
  • Experience managing AI projects, including model development, validation, and rollout in production.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain AI model outputs and business impacts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in insurance technology (InsurTech) or auto rating transformation projects.
  • Knowledge of fairness and bias mitigation techniques in AI models applied to insurance.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices for AI model lifecycle management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, or other quantitative field
  • Minimum 7, typically 10 years or more of relevant work experience
  • Master's degree and/or ACAS or similar designation beneficial
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis software (eg, SAS, Access)
  • Must have good planning, organizational, analytical, decision-making and communication skills
