Description

The Financial Analyst, STP I role combines comprehensive technical expertise and analytic ability with strong interpersonal skills to lead highly visible cross-functional projects or perform research and analysis with significant organizational impact. Drives improvements and recognizes emerging trends that will impact operations. Communicates effectively to a variety of audiences including higher levels of the organization to ensure alignment with project goals and schedules.


Responsibilities
  • Leads or manages visible, complex financial projects or analyses.
  • Uses project management tools to build comprehensive plans and ensure the successful and timely completion of project objectives.
  • Anticipates the impact of the project on other parts of the organization and effectively plans for the change. Develops highly complex ad hoc and on-going financial forecasts and models that assist the business in making business decisions, effectively communicating trends and outcomes to senior management and/or stakeholders.
  • Leads financial system implementations or enhancements of increasing scope, understanding interdependencies and managing changes to the organization`s processes.
  • Researches highly complex policy or regulatory issues and develops processes to address them, communicating appropriately to senior management.
  • Advances the organization`s technical expertise and capability for innovation by sharing best practices and coaching others in problem-solving and addressing business challenges in a positive way.
  • Drives complex results analysis, using business acumen and analytical ability to lead the team in identifying business drivers of results and communicating them effectively to management.
  • Leads or participates in department projects and continuous improvement activities that increase efficiency and effectiveness. Identifies opportunities for improvement and develops solutions to problems in processes that may span beyond the scope of own team`s responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor`s degree required; CPA or Advanced Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive financial analyst and/or finance project/program management
  • Excellent analytical, decision making and problem solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing conditions while achieving results
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills to promote discussion while fostering collaboration within the team and with other areas of the organization
  • Effectively negotiates project direction and communicates to a variety of audiences and levels of the organization to ensure alignment with project goals and schedules
  • Ability to lead meetings and make presentations to increasingly large audiences
  • Attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment, and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously to drive results

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
