Description

We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced insurance professional to join the Underwriting Effectiveness team in the role of Director II, Channel Performance Management in Personal Lines Auto Product.

 

In this role you will be responsible for leading a team dedicated to partnering with Distribution teams, focusing on deploying and optimizing strategic underwriting solutions to achieve desired business outcomes across channels and states. The ideal candidate has experience working in underwriting and product management functions with knowledge of auto insurance distribution and sales practices.

 

Note: This position may have in-office requirements depending on candidate location.

 

Key responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Develop and implement strategies for engaging, managing, and supporting Distribution teams to improve underwriting adherence and drive profitable growth across channels and states
  • Design, implement, and execute Data Accuracy Behavioral Programs across all brands and channels
  • Facilitate and drive speed-to-market implementation of solutions, clearly communicating the business value of proposals and ensuring goal alignment of multiple stakeholders through strong relationship building
  • Improve channel-level UW analytics, developing tools and processes to identify KPIs and trends and leveraging third party vendor and/or other automated solutions to create efficiency in monitoring practices
  • Regularly interface with cross-functional partners and holistically evaluate the entire value chain to spot and execute on system and behavioral gaps that lend themselves to data accuracy concerns or profitable growth concerns
  • Direct large-scale, complex, long-term, cross-functional projects, with significant visibility across the leadership team
  • Lead and mentor a diverse team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Personal Lines insurance with expertise in auto insurance products
  • Extensive experience with stakeholder management and collaboration with teams spanning Risk Analytics, State Management, Delivery, IT, Distribution, Operations, & Claims to drive underwriting strategy
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Deep understanding of insurance quoting platforms, sales practices across channels
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, and data analysis software (e.g., SAS, SQL, Snowflake)

Qualifications

  • Proven math and analytical skills, as normally acquired through the pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of progressively more responsible experience. 
  • Advanced analytical, problem solving, research, and project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to influence management to advance business initiatives from idea to execution
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills required to establish and build effective relationships within and outside the organization

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
