The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Description

  • Support a team of 4 software engineers to support and maintain a critical data integration layer for our Service Experience Technology space.
  • Represent the team as an implementation lead to other business partners and engineering teams in our organization.
  • Maintain relationship with Product Owner and the business to support refinement of the backlog and advise on work priority.
  • Provide 24x7 on-call production support on a rotational basis with the team. 
  • Work with Product Owner and Engineering Manager to develop software development best practices and implement them with the team.
  • Provide futuristic solutions by looking at latest offerings in market.
  • Design resilient system using AWS Cloud EC2 instance, Docker, Kubernetes, SQS, SNS and cloud watch architecture.
  • Design and Development of responsive web application with support by all widely used browsers.
  • Travel required up to 10%.
  • Telecommuting permitted up to 100%.

Qualifications

Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering or related field and ten (10) years of experience in the job offered or in a Principal Software Engineer-related occupation.
Position requires demonstrable experience in the following:

  • Development of Apollo GraphQL solutions.
  • Utilizing REST, micro services, cloud platforms (AWS), GraphQL, React (JavaScript or TypeScript), NodeJS, and Express.
  • Front-end web development using React (JavaScript or TypeScript), HTML, and CSS.
  • Functional and system integration testing.
  • Working in an agile environment utilizing Scrum, Kanban, or XP.
  • CI/CD tools including Bamboo.
  • DevOps tools including Git version control and Observability tools including Splunk or
  • Datadog.
  • Travel required up to 10%.
  • Telecommuting permitted up to 100%.
