The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Description

The Senior Product Designer works with business, technical, and product leads and executives to understand the business vision and objectives to help identify and execute on opportunities for competitive advantage. Creates user-centered design solutions that feature ease of use, employ best-in-class interaction design, and optimize the user experience.


Responsibilities:

 

  • Creates user experience and visual design solutions for assigned projects (or a functional area) based on business objectives and user research
  • Works independently or serves as lead on projects of moderate complexity
  • Designs new multi-step user flows using various design tools (e.g. experience and service design maps, journey maps, concepts, storyboards, wireframes, and prototypes)
  • Serves as subject matter expert in the of the defined UX and brand standards in the execution of visual, interaction and motion design
  • Proposes changes or new standards as needed and contributes to pattern library with markup
  • Contributes to the objective-setting and discovery process, including user persona development and interpreting user goals, and leads some user research activities with minimal guidance from Research Team
  • Collects and interprets results of user research, concept testing, usability testing and quantitative analysis to make moderately complex design recommendations
  • Acts as an advocate for the end user within a cross-functional team
  • Works collaboratively by sharing designs early and often, seeking constructive feedback and integrating feedback to improve solutions
  • Offers guidance and provides constructive feedback to other team members

Qualifications

  • As typically acquired through a Bachelor`s degree or equivalent experience and 7+ years of experience in a related field:Experience using methodologies such as Agile, Design Thinking, Lean UX, and Lean Startup
  • Familiarity with the following core disciplines, with demonstrated expertise in at least two and familiarity with two others: visual design, UX design, prototyping, front-end development, user research and/or experiment design
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Proven ability to present projects and status reports to senior management
  • Strong organization and analytic thinking skills, with ability to translate moderately complex content into user scenarios, flows and diagrams
  • Proven track record of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
