The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Description

  • Support Data Engineering initiatives, including the development of “Data Lake” architecture.
  • Apply all Phases of Software Development Life Cycle (Analysis, Design, Development, Testing and Maintenance) using Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
  • Utilize Hive for creating tables and data distribution by implementing Partitioning and Bucketing. Develop, tune and optimize the HQL queries.
  • Import and export data using SQOOP from HDFS to Relational Database systems and vice versa.
  • Develop Data Frame and RDD (Resilient Distributed Datasets) to achieve unified transformations on the data load.
  • Develop scheduling and monitoring Oozie workflows for parallel execution of jobs.
  • Transfer data from different platforms into AWS platform.
  • Manage the source code in GitHub.
  • Track and deliver requirements in Jira.
  • Build distributed, scalable, and reliable data pipelines that ingest and process data at scale and in real-time.
  • Create metrics and apply business logic using Spark, Scala, R, Python, and/or Java.
    Model, design, develop, code, test, debut, document and deploy application to production through standard processes.
  • Harmonize, transform, and move data from a raw format to consumable and curated views.
  • Apply strong Data Governance principles, standards, and frameworks to promote data consistency and quality while effectively managing and protecting the integrity of corporate data.
  • Design and develop data solutions that enables effective self-service data consumption and can describe their value to the customer.
  • Assist stakeholders in defining metrics that are impactful to the business.
  • Working with IT, assist in building robust systems focusing on long-term and ongoing maintenance and support. Works with IT to help scale prototypes.
  • Design proof-of-concept prototypes/develops data solutions of high complexity to meet the needs of the organization and business customers, under limited direction.
  • Handle end to end project management of data solutions.
  • Travel required up to 10%.
  • Telecommuting permitted up to 100%.

Qualifications

Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electronics Engineering, Analytics, Database management, Report Development, Computer Science or related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in a Sr Data Solutions Analyst-related occupation.
Position requires demonstrable experience in the following:

  • Understanding Agile Techniques.
  • Experience in coding for data management, data warehousing, or other data environments using tools such as SAS, SQL, Teradata, Linux, Snowflake, AWS, or Python/SQL programming.
  • Develop data solutions of high complexity under limited direction using one or more reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik Sense, MicroStrategy or Excel.
  • Project Management.
  • Travel required up to 10%.
  • Telecommuting permitted up to 100%.
