The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

We have product owner positions open across multiple areas supporting our Service and Claims domain.

 

Finance Solutions - Payments 

As the Product Owner in the USRM Finance Payments Portfolio, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and growing the Global Payments Ecosystem, a centralized digital receivable payments platform for Liberty Mutual. This platform enables the rapid deployment of new payment capabilities and supports additional channels in response to evolving customer and market needs, driving enterprise growth and profitability.

 

In this role, you will serve as the voice of the customer and the organization, delivering new payment capabilities that deliver value for our customers. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders in Corporate Treasury, Finance, and other departments, as well as our various payment vendors, to optimize processing efficiencies, deliver new payment offerings, and reduce processing costs in partnership with key business partners.

 

Customer Experience

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Product Owner to join the Customer Service Experience Portfolio to lead the development and enhancement of our customer portals. In this role, you will own the vision and roadmap for products that shape how our customers engage with our insurance products, drive customer satisfaction, and increase operational efficiency. Your primary focus will be in driving enhancements to our policy change journeys, improving efficiencies in our product, and driving improved cross-sell journeys that improve customer retention. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, and customer support to deliver innovative solutions that delight our policyholders.

 

Electronic Content Solutions - Nebula & eSign

As a member of the Agile team, the Product Owner represents the voice of the customer and the organization through the delivery of business value. This person works closely with stakeholders (business and technology), including LOB leadership, to define and prioritize features and stories, ensuring alignment with customer needs and organizational goals. This person understands customers` problems in detail and ensures the problems are clearly defined, prioritized and the squad/team is focused on the most valuable work.

 

We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to lead our USRM content storage service, the backbone that powers content accessibility across our insurance ecosystem. This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders from all core functions, driving cross-functional alignment and innovation. As a key strategic leader, you will shape the future roadmap with a strong focus on harnessing AI to deliver transformative business outcomes. Additionally, you will spearhead the evolution of our eSignature service, advancing digital capabilities that enhance our end-to-end customer experience and support our expanding digital ecosystem.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Contribute to the creation of product vision and alignment with strategic priorities with stakeholders. Communicates the product and portfolio vision to their squad/team and other squads/teams outside their portfolio/functional area.
  • With the squad/team, contribute towards achieving assigned product KPIs. Manages product(s) with a low-medium degree of strategy, scope, and complexity.
  • Owns and maintains the product backlog and is accountable for its contents, prioritization, and acceptance criteria. Accountable for clear, actionable user stories.
  • Sets priorities and actively participates in squad/team quarterly planning. Sets expectations with stakeholders for delivery of new capabilities, features, and functionalities.
  • Participates in squad/team demos, retrospectives, and all other ceremonies.
  • Works daily with the Agile working group clarifying business requirements, removing roadblocks, constantly communicating, and supporting alignment around product strategy. Contributes to aligning development and business goals and priorities while working with stakeholders and squad/team to remove roadblocks to execution.
  • Monitors and maintains the product health, supporting long-term product viability and efficiency, and balancing long and short term and costs with desired outcomes.
  • Analyzes feasibility, cost of delay ramifications, economies, or other aspects of planned or potential changes to the product.
  • Understands regulatory, compliance, and other industry constraints on the product and prioritizes accordingly. Negotiates with immediate squads/teams to ensure priorities are aligned in a portfolio.
  • Collaboratively builds the squad/team product roadmap based on strategy and ongoing input from stakeholders. Communicates expected value and any changes in value to be delivered in each iteration (sprint, monthly, quarterly, etc.) based on the squad/team-determined capacity.
  • Contributes in customer-driven design and usability testing. Ensures a well-positioned product through market & industry analysis.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Product owner experience in customer-facing UI or finance/payments or technology
  • Stakeholder management
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize data

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and IT project management as typically acquired through a Bachelors` degree in relevant field (business, computer science, humanities, etc.) and a minimum of 2 to 4 years direct experience with agile teams as well as 5 years in business, technology or consulting.
  • Able to depict complex ideas, issues and designs to varied audiences; educate SBU/department(s) on business vision and plan and the impact of change.
  • Able to make difficult and quick decisions daily.
  • Problem solver with ability to lead the team to push the solutions and progress.
  • Experience in the insurance industry preferred.
  • Knowledge of relevant products and portfolio preferred.
  • Experimental mindset to drive innovation amongst uncertainty.
