The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. The US Retail Markets (USRM) Personal Lines (PL) Property & Specialty Analytics team is seeking a Manager, Actuary to lead our Home State Indications team. The team will help manage property products that account for over $10B in premium each year. Responsibilities include the development of accurate state-level indications, close partnership with Home State Management to understand aspects of the state-specific environment that would impact profitability, and gaining buy-in by helping partners understand their analysis. Their work will help drive appropriate state actions across USRM and ultimately contribute to our goal of delivering target profitability or better in every state. This position will report directly to the PL Home State Analytics Senior Director and will lead a team of 4 direct reports.
The successful candidate must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and experience managing moderate to complex projects. They will also have strong technical as well as verbal and written communication skills and the ability to explain their work in non-technical (business) contexts. There will be a significant level of interaction with other functional areas (e.g., HO State Management, CW Indications, and State Actuarial Support).
