Pay Philosophy

The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Description

Join the Legal Operations and Enablement Legal Systems Solutions team as we deliver on our goals, and work toward being a best-in-class Legal Organization. Under the guidance of the Manager, Product Owner and in close collaboration with Legal Global and Compliance stakeholders, you will partner with Legal IT to create a vision and strategy for technology and process solutions that enhance the user experience. This role will help set priorities for the Legal technology team and will own specific applications in the technology platform and supporting additional innovation initiatives, as well as assist in the relationships with critical business partners.

This position is hybrid and will require two days in the office. Typical starting salary is $123,000-$140,000

 

Responsibilities:

       

  • Lead for critical initiative to replace and modernize existing technology. Will oversee and manage consolidation of legal applications.
  • Create product vision and strategy to drive the development and enhancements of products for Global Legal and Compliance stakeholders.
  • Collaborates on product vision and alignment with strategic priorities with stakeholders. Contributes to the development of the portfolio vision for Global Legal and Compliance and other SBU stakeholders. Communicates product and portfolio vision to Global Legal and Compliance stakeholders and other squads/teams outside their portfolio/functional area. Responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the existing legal applications, which is vital for Global Legal and Compliance to protect our policyholders.
  • General understanding of the insurance industry, legal operations, litigation practices and processes.
  • With the squad/team, collaboratively accountable for developing and achieving product level OKRs and KPIs. Manages product(s) with a moderate degree of strategy, scope, and complexity.
  • Owns and maintains the product backlog and is accountable for its contents and prioritization. Accountable for clear, actionable user stories.
  • Sets priorities and actively participates in squad/team continuous planning. Collaborates with more senior Product Owners to set priorities for the legal portfolio.
  • Sets expectations with stakeholders for delivery of new capabilities, features, and functionalities. Participates in squad/team demos, retrospectives, and all other ceremonies.
  • Works daily with the agile working group, clarifying business requirements, removing roadblocks, constantly communicating, and supporting alignment around product strategy.
  • Triages customer support tickets and prioritizes for the team so that the right resources are working on the right priorities at the right time.
  • Facilitate vendor relationships as it relates to application enhancements, performance and contract management.
  • Lead strategic collaboration with the Scrum Master to coach stakeholders, align on product expectations, proactively address blockers, and enhance team dynamics.

 

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and IT project management as typically acquired through a Bachelors` degree in relevant field (business, computer science, humanities etc.) and a minimum of 3 to 5 years direct experience with agile teams as well as 7 years in business, technology, or consulting.
  • Strong ability to depict and explain the importance of complex ideas, issues and designs to varied audiences; educate Global Legal and Compliance customers and IT groups on business vision and plan and the impact of change. Able to influence a diverse group of stakeholders; strong leadership skills.
  • Strong ability to make difficult and quick decisions daily. Strong problem solver with demonstrated ability to lead a team to push solutions and progress.
  • Strong influencing skills to be seen as the decision maker when interfacing with business, and willingness to dissent with both teams and business.
  • Proven experience with Agile practices and expectations.
  • Able to prioritize work requests from different stakeholders with competing demands and align with dedicated agile development team.
  • Strong experimental mindset to drive innovation amongst uncertainty. Comfortable with making decisions with some level of uncertainty. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Technical proficiency is required to participate in sprint planning and have an informed, independent voice.
  • Experience and knowledge in the insurance industry, legal operations and processes, legal services, and analytics preferred. Demonstrated interest in reporting and business intelligence tools (PowerBI, DB visualizer) and desire to expand knowledge in this space
